Ice Fall course, and Ski touring in the Pyrénées mountains, with Pierre Beuscar


The following programmes are not organized by Le Pays d'En Haut; they are organized by Pierre Beuscar, Mountain Guide, which works at Le Pays d'En Haut during the Summer season.




- Ice fall course in the Cirque de Gavarnie, the birthplace of ice fall climbing in France

Level: for climbers/alpinists wanting to improve their safety and climbing techniques in winter conditions.
Programme: Every day, excursions from Gavarnie village to different spots to learn and hone all the winter ascent skills, climbing frozen waterfalls or mixed routes in the Cirque de Gavarnie or Cirque de Troumouse or on the west face of the Taillon.
Accommodation: At the alpine chalet " la Grange de Holle" in Gavarnie village (half board, i.e. bed, breakfast and evening meal).

- Ski touring in the "Encantats" (Spanish Pyrénées)

A five days round trek, with four nights in comfortable manned mountain huts, passing by La Restanca, Colomers, Ventosa, Estany Llong, Amitges, Saboredo...

Ideal as your first multi-day ski tour, with lightweight packs!

Technical level: For good and expert skiers in off-piste skiing, who have already  had several one day ski-tour experiences, with skinning up to 800 m.

Technical difficulty: Good control of skis on sustained slopes, control of kick turns in ascensions as well as in the descents. Moderate ski trek with total climbs of around 800 meters on average and never exceeding 1200 m.
