Nepal, Island Peak (20,305 feet asl) 

Seen from Chukkung, above Dingpoche, Island Peak does indeed resemble an island in a sea of ice, and was first climbed in 1953 by a team of climbers, including Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, preparing for the ascent of Everest, which he climbed a few months later with Edward Hillary.

In the heart of Everest mountain range, facing the extraordinary South face of Lhotse, the ascent of Island Peak, 20,305 feet asl,  reveals a magnificent panorama : Makalu, Baruntse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam, Holy mountain of Sherpas' land.

This beautiful trekking peak will be the high point of a superb trekking through Everest 4 Valleys.

In the east of Lukla, Hinku valley has remained very wild, isolated from Khumbu by the steep slopes of Zatrwa La pass, 15,075 feet. On the other side of the pass and of the mountain pasture of Tangnag, the rhododendrons and silver pines forests, and the pastures stocked with yaks, give place to a mineral and glacial scenery dominated by Mera Peak.
